Hi, I'm having some problems accessing a Pervasive.SQL 2000 database on another server using the ODBC 2.5 drivers.

I keep getting either 500 internal server errors or General Errors every time I run the ASP script. I'm assuming the problem has something to do with permissions.

Can someone point me in the direction of an idiots guide to configuring this driver/permissions properly?

thanks

The ODBC 2.5 drivers require a ScalableSQL engine (usually found in Pervasive.SQL 7) and that was dropped with Pervasive.SQL 2000 and replaced with the SRDE which is a native ODBC-SQL relational engine. As such it won't work with the ODBC 2.5 drivers but comes with it's own 7.5x drivers which you must configure as an engine DSN and a client DSN. All the docs are available from here:

I would recommend that you test and configure the ODBC by installing the Pervasive.SQL 2000i client on a clean systems and then test with PCC and SQL DM using Demodata according to the docs. After that you should easily be able to configure your database as long as you have good DDFs.
