pervasive postgre

Has anyone here ever tried the pervasive postgresql? standalone or with sage pfw?

I've tried it standalone. More just to play with it than anything else.

PFW is a Pervasive Btrieve product which is different from the Postgresql. They are two different databases.

do you know what the diferences are between pervasivepostgres and just straight pervasive? why each could not be used in place of the other?

There's not a lot in common. The data file format is different. The interface is different. The engines themselves are different. You cannot convert a Btrieve API application to use Postgres without rewriting every single database access call.
