Hi, all

I am attempting to install on a NetWare 5.1 server. I can not get past the transaction test. Also, apparently I am not able to run the SQL engine because of an incompatibility of the version of the ODBC.NLM with NetWare 5.1. Is there a work around for this?

What error are you getting? What happens if you skip the test? Does your application work?

Hi, Mirtheil

I am running the "Pervasive System Analyzer". These are the steps I use:

1. On the first screen, I select "Test active installation" and click the next button.

2. On the next screen I type in the IP address under the "Target Machine".

3. After the connection test is finished, the program advances to another screen that states:

Successfully connected to <ip_address> via TCP/IP protocol.

Successfully transmitted 75 test messages via TCP/IP protocol during stress test.

4. I then click the "Next" button.

5. This brings me to the "Test Transaction Engine" screem. I then type in the path to the directory where the sample directory is and click the "Next" button.

The error I receive is this:

The file specified is not a MicroKernel file.

Status code = 30

The items it checks are

Intialize - Pass
Create Data File - Fails
Read Data - Fails
Update Data - Fails
Insert Date - Fails
Cleanup - Pass

Since I am using NetWare 5.1, the Pervasive documentation says the ODBC.NLM with NetWare 5.1 is incompatible with Pervasive.SQL and to disable it which means I cannot run the "Test Relational Engine".

Did you have PSQL V9 on this server previously?
What's the version of NWMKDE.NLM on the server?

Does your application (not PSA) work?

Hi, Mirtheil

I was able to get the test completed by archiving some of the older btrieve nlms. Thanks for your help.
