I know this pervasive is no longer supported by macola. However, I have several clients that need to limp along a little longer on the old pervasive until they can upgrade to sql for various reasons. I know 76300a should work & has been tested, but has anyone installed a higher macola service pack than that? I hate to upgrade the pervasive when they will only use it a little while longer before moving to sql.

Our company is facing the same issue because we want to upgrade to Windows Server 2003 and Exact stated that Pervasive SQL is not tested on W2k3 server, which mean they are not going to be held responsible if we decided to go W2k3 server with Pervasive and crashed the database. We have no choice but upgrade to MS SQL in the next month or two. Just feel like sharing.

Btw, we're using 7.6.300b here. I don't really want to upgrade to the c version since the current one works fine with us. Don't want to patch it if I don't have to.

I have a couple of clients running win2003 servers with 76100/76100a & using pervasive 200i sp4 w/hot fixes. We haven't had any problems with this other than custom programs written for them from vendors who didn't know the macola database & didn't know pervasive. Most of those issues have been resolved once their programming was cleaned up.

You shouldn't rush head long into an SQL upgrade, particularly if you are new to macola as well. You need to clean up your database, update your macola, then convert to sql on the same version of macola as your pervasive install & test. This is not a slam dunk project, particularly if you have any customizations, flex projects, screen set mods, etc, etc.

I am running P.SQL 200i sp2 on my laptop with 7.6.300b SQL without any issues. Granted, I'm doing testing with and haven't really pounded away on tons of transactions but I've done 4 Btrieve to SQL conversions and tested other transactions with it.
