Pervasicve Client on Win95

I have several client workstations using Win95. At times, btrieve programs fail, and I need to re-install the pervasive client, always getting an 'orphaned directory' message. Any ideas as to what is causing this?

I did a search in the pervasive knowledge base but couldn't find the orphaned directory message.... Maybe if you take a look at

http://support.pervasive.com/esupport/esupport/consumer/esupport.asp?

and see what you get if you put the exact error message in there.
