Hi!

I am new to crystal reports. We use Pervaise 8 database. When I try to preview existing reports using crystal reports 11, message pops up "Failed to load database information" followed by "Prompting failed with following error message ." Error Source: Error Code: 0x80004005"

When I try to verify data using Database> verify database, it say "Failed to load database information. Details: The database connector 'crdb_p2bbtrv.dll could not be loaded".

What does that mean?

Sounds like the Crystal Reports is missing the Btrieve driver. You might want to convert from the Btrieve native driver to the ODBC driver.

Thanks alot for your reply. How can I convert the Btrieve native driver to ODBC Driver?

I believe Crystal offers a menu option to change drivers. I'm not very familiar with Crystal.

First you must go to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, ODBC Data Sources and create an ODBC DSN for the pervasive driver, although many applications such as Macola create their own ODBC DSN when you install the software on the workstation.

Once this is in place click on database, convert database driver, pick the ODBC driver, and then point the report to the ODBC DSN, and crystal will use it instead of the native driver.

Thanks for your replies. In ODBC Data Source Administrator, I can see the database name in system DSN tab and for driver it says: Pervasive ODBC Client Interface. Now how do I convert it and into which driver?

In crystal.click on database, convert database driver.
