I'm running Windows 98 SE and have a folder on my desktop that contains all my commonly used shortcuts. Is there a way that I can get my PC to have this folder open on the desktop each time I start my PC ? (rather than as I have at the moment where the folder is shown as an icon on the desktop)

Also can you point me to online resources that can help an OS novice in related issues of desktop personalization.

Thanks

Create a shortcut for the folder and place it into the startup folder which can be found (in most cases) in C:\windows\start menu\programs\startup

Hope this helps.

thanks carty

its amazing how long i've used this os b4 deciding to try and find out more about it. i'm discovering new things by the minute.

it seems that most of my problems exist because of incorrect close downs.

thanks again.
