You know how sometimes when you have two sessions of Excel open and it says it can't launch Personal.xlsb because it's in use by another application?

Well, that happened. Now I can't get it back to run my macros. I've closed and re-launched the session of Excel and even powered down / up to see if I can unlock it. No luck.

Suggestion?

Many thanks!

It does NOT indicate that you CANNOT LAUNCH your Personal.xls.

It DOES indicate that another instance or Excel has it open and the you can READ ONLY.

See if you can record a macro and save it in your personal macro workbook.

BTW, I always keep copies of MODULES in my personal.xls in a separate folder. Export to a save location.

Hi Skip,

Thanks for responding. I am sorry that I got my description of the message messed up when I posted and it wasn't the precise language. I didn't mean to upset you.

I did try to record a new on but Personal.xlsb is not an option for the dropdown "Macro In: " inside the pop up box.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know.

can you also expand upon your process when you say that you: BTW, I always keep copies of MODULES in my personal.xls in a separate folder. Export to a save location.

Many many thanks!
