I'm installing 4412 and 4424 sets for the first time on a job. The customer noticed a yellow warning in the end user booklet that says not to use the personal speed dial with this type sets! It says you can/will mess up the button programing? What's the deal with this?
I am using a Magix 2.2 V7

The memory slots for personal speed dial are some of the same memory slots for the buttons themselves. So, just put speed dial numbers on buttons, or use system speed dial instead.

Well, the problem is, the ORIGINAL system was designed around 10 Button Sets, or 34 Button sets, with all ports able to support 34 button sets.

That meant that when a 10 button set was used, it had 24 extra memory addresses.

It gets real complicated as the design goes to the 24 Button TDL phone, from the original 10 Button ATL (MERLIN) phone.

It's just more complicated than it's worth to try and figure it out, so Avaya said, "Don't mess with it....."

If you have the time, you can play around with #01 Thru #24, and see what that does to your TOP 4 BUTTONS on your TDL Phone.

In the ATL World, #01 was the 34th Button, #02 was the 33rd, etc.....

TTT and Merlinman,

Sounds like a 4424 could still have 10 personal speed dial numbers. Thanks for the info, I'll try it before passing it along to the customer.
