I have asked this question before and I still don't know why it is happening. When I run a Macro I get prompted if I am trying to open another Excel page saying that Personal Macros is locked for Editing. I get it even if I start from scratch and I get it if I have one XL file open and tring to open another XL file. I exported and removed all my Personal Macros so none are showing up in the Explorer section. This is really limiting what I can do. Any help would be Wonderfully Appreciated.

Could it be something to do with your security settings? Not sure if that is the problem but it's a start.

Hi ribhead,

You will get this if you try to open a second instance of Excel, rather than a second workbook in a single instance. Can you post any code that causes the problem?

Enjoy,
Tony

The only time I get this is when I am have Excel open and I am trying to open another workbook so Tony has described it pretty well is there anything I can do to get rid of it. By the way Tony could you define instance?

Thanks,
Ribhead
