Howdy,

I have a MAC OSX 10.4. The personal file sharing service turns off each time another MAC trys to connect. I tried to research the problem online but can't seem to find anything. Has anyone else ever had this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Haven't run into the problem. You might try going to Network in System Prefs and select the method you use for connecting to the network (like built in ethernet) from the drop down menu next to Show. Then click on the Appletalk tab and check Make Active. See if that helps.

I'm assuming that the user account and his/her home folder has permission for sharing and that it's not locked.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4

Bill,

You might also want to check the "console" application - it will display a Unix style console which may include error messages you will find useful.

Finally, you might want to use the same applications to look for crash logs - it's possible the file sharing service is crashing for some reason.
