I have looked but unable to find a tech function code to disable the canned prompt for personal contacts i.e. 2 for cell phone etc. Can anyone help? Can it be done?

Scenario is replacing old Nupoint Messenger so trying to duplicate quite a complicated tree structure with the Integrated VM.

I need four separate call trees all of which I want to use single digit codes 1,2,3 and 4 and was hoping to use personal contacts rather than Menu node mail boxes.

Three of the four trees digit 4 will go to one mail box to leave a msg and all four trees will use digit 1,2 and 3 to route calls to various departments and or speed dial to external numbers all of which I can accomplish using personal contacts but not sure if I can with menu node easily and without using up quite a few mail box licences.

Why? a Menu node would work and not have your problem.

It had been suggested to me by our Mitel pre sales consultant that Menu Node would not accomplish what we want because of dialling conflicts ?? and that using personal contacts may be the way to go.

Here's what I came up with so far just need to try to implement tomorrow.

Night Answering

Menu Node ext 9901 incoming DDI Greeting 1
Dial 1 to ext 9801
Dial 2 to ext 9802
Dial 3 to ext 9803
Dial 4 to ext 9804 msg only MB for operator to check each morning 5312 IP Set

Menu Node ext 9902 incoming DDI Greeting 1. Or just reroute to ext 9901 at night
Dial 1 to ext 9801
Dial 2 to ext 9802
Dial 3 to ext 9803
Dial 4 to ext 9804 msg only MB for operator to check each morning 5312 IP Set

Menu Node ext 9903 incoming DDI Greeting 2
Dial 1 to ext 9701
Dial 2 to ext 9702
Dial 3 to ext 9703
Dial 4 to ext 9404 msg only MB for operator to check each morning 5312 IP Set

Menu Node ext 9904 incoming DDI Greeting 3
Dial 1 to ext 9701
Dial 2 to ext 9702
Dial 3 to leave msg at ext 9904 ???
Hidden Dial 4 to speed call to mobile

Menu Node ext 9905 incoming DDI Greeting 4
Dial 1 to ext 9701
Dial 2 to ext 9702
Dial 3 to leave msg at ext 9905 ???
Hidden dial 4 to speed call to mobile
.

Caution,

When you route a number to another, as appears to be the case in your design, the Mitel will retain the original dialed digits and integrate with the original, not the interim station.

There are ways to defeat this "feature"

Thank you for your caution however as you say I believe can get around the issue you raise by rerouting to a nametag HG.

I am not sure yet how to address the last two trees in that when digit 3 is dialed I need the msg to be left at the originating Menu Node mail box. I wont be able to do this as it will just loop.

I suppose I can simply assign a phantom ext to drop the msg into and use msg waiting for another ext on the sets.

Any suggestions and or further cautions would be welcomed.

The problem is the embedded voicemail is no where near a repalcement for the functions in Nupoint messenger.

Menu Nodes do not take messages.

Now we have an answer to my first question.

Got the first three trees to work.

Set up 3 menu node mail box's and used digits 1,2,3 and 4 for all three successfully. I was hoping to use personal contacts for trees 4 and 5 but Mitel confirm that there is no way to disable the canned system prompts for personal contacts 2, 5 and 7. Unfortunately this does not allow me to use four consecutive numbers.

It’s odd that you can set up personal contacts for digits 0,1,3,4,6,8 and 9 and there is no canned prompt. Why they added canned prompts for digits 2,5 and 7 who knows.

Any ideas how to accomplish trees 4 and 5 retaining the DDI number for the user? I can use two more menu node but as we know I will not be able to allow a msg to be left in a menu node MB.

As this is only required in Night 1 mode one idea is to set up the trees as previously stated and reroute the DDI numbers to phantom number in night mode use that as the menu node MB then send digit 4 to a nametag HG to allow a msg to be left at the actual DDI number. Cant test this till Monday but I think it will work.
