we have a 2000 server, i want to be able to set permissions on files shared on the network. I have used ntfs permissions but these files need to be accessed over the intranet and this doesnt seem to work even though it feels as though it should, could anyone point me in the right direction

cheers

Are you setting permissions on the securities tab or are you creating a share and setting permissions on the shared tab?

on security tab, i am hosting crystal reports on the intranet usin IIS, and want to be able to have security on individual files, trying to wing in somehow, as I have been asked to set security cos the company are too tight to pay out for software that will do this.
