How do i give someone access to allow them to add fields, i do not want to give them master rights.

TIA

You can't. master rights are required to add custom fields.

That being said, you COULD give someone master rights but remove menu items from them in the properties of their username on the MENU tab. Be sure to remove file|confure|users settings or they'll be able to just give themselves the items back. ;)

I don't know about you guys, but I think letting users add/modify user-def fields is a problem waiting to happen. It's bad enough when users start adding f2 values with reckless abandon, but adding the fields... Too many potential problems. What about things like custom views associated with record types, usergroup viewing, etc. Yikes!
