Got a problem running an executable file from nokia IPSO - which is UNIX based.

Copied the file onto the box and when i run ./ filename it comes back with 'No permissions'. I am logged in as root and when I do an ls-l on the file I get - rwxr - xr -x 1 root wheel.

Any ideas what I can do to get the permissions to run this ?

Thanks

Something else to consider. Just because the IPSO is unix based, doesn't guarantee that the program is also a Unix style executable.

Try 'file filename' and your system should respond with the filetype as recognized by Unix. If it says something like 'data' or 'unrecognized', then you've got a foreign executable and your system has no idea what to do with it.

This may help.

thanks for your help guys - i have maneged to sort this now

i was pasting the long file name after the ./ - unfortunatley this added a space - after reading your suggestion i typed it out leaving out the space. one of those frustrating things for those of us who dont use unix!
