Permissions and Archive Bit

I have a full and differential running based on archive bit. Every time I change permissions, usually temporarily, the differential sees this as a changed file and bloats my backup. Is there a way to disable this response to altered file permissions?

well the file has changed so whats the problem?

part of any backup is to also backup security information regarding the file.
