We are getting an error in SQL Server Mgmt Studio Property DefaultSchema is not available for Database"dbasename". The property may not exist for this object, or may not be retrievalbe due to insufficient access rights.(sqleditors) We use a domain group to assign the rights and they are assigned DB Owner. Some people in the group can create tables, and views and not get this error. Others in this domain group get the error. And it flip/Flops who can perform these functions on different databases. Meaning user 1 can do it on database 1 and 3 but can do it on 2 and 4, while user 2 can do it on database 2 and 4 but gets the error on 1 and 3.

Any ideas???

Thanks

Dan

I found that as well but to me it didn't explain two people getting different results on the same database when they have the same access.

In Microsoft's infinate wisdom the GUI requires that you have a default schema in order to create objects. However you can't assign a default schema to a domain group (hopfuly in SP2, but don't hold your breath).

People who are members of the sysadmin fixed server role are automatically assigned to the dbo schema unless otherwise assigned. If users are not assigned to a fixed server role then they should be mapped automatically to the dbo user, and pick up the schema which that user has. If you aren't mapped to a fixed server role, then you'll get that message unless your login if defined in the database as a user (other than via the group).
