Hi Everyone

I understand that I can assign permissions for the scope of the whole entire list. In other words who will View, Edit, Delete, Insert New record for the whole entire list.

What I am trying to accomplish is to assign permissions that have the scope of a record in the list. For example, based on the contents of field A user B can’t view this record.

Any way to do that?

Thanks a lot

Sounds like a job for a custom web part. The built-ins don't have that granularity.

A lot of confusion about the real definition of Web-Parts. Can you please give me a hint what they are, what they can buy me, etc. Or kindly refer me to a web site on which I can find a tutorial?

Web Parts are powerful modular tools that you can create and then drag and drop into a portal or site page. You can create custom web parts that do what you need to do: display data based on a user login, show information from other apps, etc. etc.

You can find some exposition at
