I opened new domain user with default permissions (member of domain users). I live the security polices default settings. But this new user cannot change his own desktop (cannot save it) and cannot save any other settings (like in the IE). And there is no error message about access. If
I assign admin rights everything works fine (but I don't wont this).

So what rights I have to define for this normal user to
work correctly?

Any help i welcome!

Check the default group security policy for the entire domain as well as the local policy for the machine your user is trying to log on to. Don't forget to check the security templates as well. Server2k Help files are actually not bad in the area of understanding group policy and in what order it is implemented.

Is he logging on locally, or to the domain? Also, make sure he has proper access rights on his local machine. If he logs on locally and not to the domain, his security will come from his local account. If he logs on to the domain, his security will come from the domain. Good luck Glen A. Johnson
