Hello,

When I "Compact" my Database from the Database Utilities, I'm getting an error:

"Records can't be read; no record permission '[database name]'"

When I look at the database in Explorer and right mouse click, go to properties and view general properties, it shows the only item checked is "attributes".

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Thanks.

What version are you using?

Also, what is the file size of your database?

It is said that God will give you no more than you can handle. I just wish God didn't have so much faith in me.

Hi there,

I'm using Access 97 and the size of the file is: 14 Megs

Hi DBAMJA,

I fixed this. I imported the database (all tables, forms, etc.) into a new database and I was able to compact the new database. I'm not sure why the other one would not compact...thank you. :)
