niu2 revision

001-0-60 NIU2 ROF 137 5396/2 R3A
CAA 1580021 R8A EXE
CAA 1580021 R5A OLD

I suspect you need a higher FW revision that supports the 256Mb card.

please upgrade to the latest version (R13A if i'm correct)

Cheers,
Daddy

You have to upgrade to R11A before R13A, if I remember...
(Daddy: If you skip the R11A, the boot part looks funny in R13A, or maybe doesn't work corrctly?)

yes indeed fcpli!

Infact there is a R14A.

And if you follow the instruction and load the NIF before the boot there are no problems.

By the way, do you have tried with a smaller SIZE, for example 30 or 40. Sometimes the MD isn't that good at fault message.

asuvp:

Of course you load the FW before the boot. What Imean (if you read the text properly), is that the NIU needs to be updated to R11A before R13A. Below an instruction from ///. Also, reducing the size is not the solution in this case, just let's see what happens after the update....

19112-rys102724_2_b.mx = NIF2 - BOOT R2A Checksum CRC-32: D0E8176A
19003-caa1580021_n.mx = NIF2 R11A Checksum CRC-32: 14762CFF

The procedure to download boot FW from backplane is:

1. First, the NIU2 board must have application FW R11A.
1. Transfer the file to NIU with ftp.
2. Load the application code to NIU with CNBLI.
3. Switch and confirm with CNBSI and CNBCI.

2. Watchdog
1. Check that watchdog is turned off with niux command:
wd
2. If it is not turned off, turn it off with niux command:
wd -m0

4. Download boot FW R2A using the following commands:
1. Transfer the boot file to NIU with ftp.
2. Load the boot code to NIU with CNBLI.
3. Confirm with CNBCI.

5. (Optional step)
Turn on watchdog with command:
wd -m1

thanks all for your help
i tried the format with NIU2 R13A and it works

thanks all

fcpli:

If you follow the instruction: load NIF then check the watchdog then load boot, you can load the latest directly. There is no need to take the step via R11A.
