I am trying to open a file which contains other files and some notepad documents. While opening, I got a message telling me that permission for reading is denied. So can anyone help me?

That sounds like an OS trap, not Tcl. Look at the permissions on the file.

By the way, how can a file contain other file? Is it "file names"? or is the first file a directory? You can't open a directory with a Tcl open statement.
