Hi im working on an IIS server with php 4, I have full permission on everything, and i can write files and overwrite files i have made with php, the problem is that i can't overwrite files that were not made by a php script...

At first I thought it was a user problem, but the files are allowed to be written, and the authentication (iss) is disabled... does anybody know a solution... I wouldn't post it if it was easy to find ;-)

Thanks

Does your IIS user account have permission to write to the files? Not sure exactly how to do it in Windows but in Linux / OSX there is a web user (usually called think), you need to give it permission to write to the files.

I found out what the problem was... it were indeed the adanced securty rights (in windows 2000 pro) where i had to add the webservice user and give him all rights, so not a webserver problem but a nt thing... thanks for your reaction, i allready knew that... but it got my to think a little harder :)
