This is my first post here and hopefully someone can give me some insight into this problem. I am running a SCOUnixware 7.1.1 system that uses terminal servers to interface with remote equipment. From time to time one of the /dev/tty** devices will end up giving Permission Denied when trying to kermit or do anything to it. When this occurs the other ports usually still work fine. This problem does not go away and the only fix I have found for it is to reinstall the entire system. I have checked the file permissions and those are correct and unchanged. It is also probably not a problem in the root account since I can still access other devices with the same permissions. Is there some file that could be denying me access to this device that I could go into and edit to fix this problem without reinstalling the system?
