Hi,
I've got Win 2003 Standard on one of my server which is on member of domain. I want to grand access for installing application, just one user on this server (just only this). Domain user belongs to Domain Users group. How can I do it?

Log in as Administrator?

I don't quite understand your question. An Administrator has full access and rights (godlike).

Add the user to the power users group local to the server? Best I can say. This will not impact any other servers, but you would be giving this user the access to do a lot more than standard users, and possibly compromise network security with installing bad or malicious software...

Hi,
when I add domain user to local Power Users, they still can't install any application. I need to allow rights to install applications for one domain user.
Any sugestion?

Funny, the article at shows that they should be able to do exactly what you want. It also talks about the security risks involved. There may be a GPO in place to restrict what is going on, but I can't be sure. What exactly are they trying to install?
