Hi

I have setup an XP Pro desktop to be mapped to a drive on a windows 2000 server. The map letter is: z. This works fine, but occasionally another mapped drive G appears alongside Z. It leads to exactlty the same plase as Z. I right click and disconnect it but it reappears after subsequent reboots. Any ideas on how I permanently remove G?

Many thanks

Simon.

I would suggest you remove both mappings (G & Z) and then start over by creating the Z drive from Tools --> map Network drive

Is there any body who use your account? Are you running under and Active directory environment where there are some group policies that set the G drive for you and duplicate your mappings? How many users using ur PC? Are you the administrator of your PC?

Regards,
Khalid

Khalid,

Thank you I will disconnect both and re-map.

Just one user is using the PC. Also, I may inadvertantly have reused an existing user's name within the network. It is a replacement computer but is using the same user name as the old computer.

Regards

Simon
