Hi, is there a way to permanently remove a hardware device from the system hardware database so that it will not be picked up upon reboot or with cfgmgr?

I have a server with mutiple ethernet adapters (5) and we are only using one of them. One of the other 4 is giving perm hardware errors and rather than incur unnecessary down time physically removing the offending adapter on this production host where we have mutiple spares I just want topermanently remove it logically.

OS level is AIX 4.3.3, server hardware type model is 7046-B50.

Thanks.

you may put a script in the initab wich send a rmdev -dl each time you reboot
