I´d like to create some Permanents Static Routes in my server.

I use the command route add net XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX netmask XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX YYY.YYY.YYY.YYY

If I reboot my server, these routes are lost!

Do you know to create PERMANENTS routes in HP-UX that are not deleted when we reboot the server?

Thank you!

Permanent routes need to be specified in the /etc/rc.config.d/netconf file. There will be an empty route description in this file already, just fill in the relevent details. And if you want more than one route make a copy of the description and increment the numbers in the squared brakets by one for each new entry.

EXAMPLES:

ROUTE_DESTINATION[0]="172.16.130.0"
ROUTE_MASK[0]=""
ROUTE_GATEWAY[0]="172.16.100.22"
ROUTE_COUNT[0]="1"
ROUTE_ARGS[0]=""

ROUTE_DESTINATION[1]="172.16.121.0"
ROUTE_MASK[1]=""
ROUTE_GATEWAY[1]="172.16.100.22"
ROUTE_COUNT[1]="1"
ROUTE_ARGS[1]=""

It's Easy When You Know How(TM)

Seth Yates
syates@hawtal.co.uk
