PERMANENT fatal delivery errors URGENT PLEASE

My mail server fell over on Friday so I installed Mdaemon 6.85 (the only version I have to hand) on a new box. Some emails work. Others report PERMANENT fatal delivery errors. I don't think they even get past the server. Tested the addresses from another computer not on network and work fine.

I'm working through the weekend trying to solve this as I have to go away Monday and office is panicking about being without email. PLEASE HELP
