Hi,

I'm sure this is basic stuff for a lot of you but I can't get my head around it from reading other threads etc.

I currently have a physical set x3244 that I need to permanently divert to x7595.

I figure the best way to do this is OUT the set, recreate it as a Virtual & forward that to x7595. If I left it as a physical I'd forget what it's for & try & reuse it in future.

Can someone walk me through the process of doing this please. I know how to out the set & I assume building a virtual is the same as a physical? just on a TN of 096 x x x. I don't get how to set the divert though.

There are two options that I would recommend.

Remove the TN and provide it as a Phantom DN or make it an ACD queue and set the Night Call Forward to your required number.

Phantom DN, that was the phrase I was thinking of. That's how other phones we have like this are setup so I'll go with that to keep it all the same.

Make sure that you have CLS = CFXA, SFA and FNA. Only use CFXA if external forwarding is required.

I generally prefer Phantom DN's as you can set a SCPW and use the RCFA FFC feature to change the forwarding from another set.

Could you run me through how to do it?

I assume it's out the existing TN.
Create a new TN on 096 x x x, or would it be better to CPY1? Does putting it on 096 ensure it's a Phantom?

How do I set the divert once I have the Phantom set? This is a call centre's main number so I need to get it right first time.

Providing that you already have Phantom DN's in use, then the "CPY1" prompt will work but remember that you only have 16 Phantom virtual ports per virtual slot.

Go into LD 97 to check what has been configured by using something such as..

The easiest way to find a phantom is to print a LUVU of type 500 and look for the line that say phantom.

Phantom use the feature DCFW - this feature is what divert your phantom extension to any other extension/number.

Like I thought, Phantoms are on 096

Should I CPY1 an existing Phantom after OUTing the TN for the existing phone?

Is it then a case of

Yes for easy change
DCFW 7595 (which is the new set I want all the calls to go to)

?

I've been having a look, would this be a good set to copy & just change the FTW DCFW?

Thanks, I'll clear it with the users & give it a go.

What does SFD to SFA do?

Leaving it set to SFD, means that any second call won't be diverted. It's something that I found some time ago when dealing with a nagging problem for a customer who said that they weren't getting more than one call at a time.

Ahh thank you, I suspect that'll be useful with the volume of calls this number gets.
