We have a utility which uses PERL to manage a socket connection to a listening service on another platform. With OpenServer6, that function fails stating:
"Protocol wrong type for socket"
The PERL which came with OSR6 is 5.8.6.
Does anybody know of a solution?

I've been generally pleased with OSR6, but there doesn't seem to be much support for it yet in the technical community.

In this case, the solution was to install an older version of perl (5.0.0, I think). I just hope some of the O/S utilities don't depend on the newer version which came with the O/S.
