I have just installed a new printer (Epson stylus color 880, USB connection). The printer works fine but now my scanner (parallel) and camera (USB) software ‘hang' when I try to use them.
I've downloaded the latest drivers for all three peripherals, but it has made no difference.
My previous printer, (HP 600C, parallel connection) was no problem.

Other things tried:

Deleted all the programs and drivers related to the 3 peripherals.
Cleaned the registry.
Reloaded the printer first, then the camera, then the scanner.
The printer and scanner worked fine initially. Then I tried the camera which also
worked fine. Then when I went back to the scanner it hung. Also from this point
the camera also hung. To add to the problem, when I tried to access the scanner
through CorelDraw 9, it hung.
Next I did the uninstall/install bit again but left the printer out of the equation.
Same thing happened.
I then went through the whole uninstall/install procedure AGAIN, except this time I
left the scanner out of the equation. Now the printer and camera work together.

WHAT HAS THE PRINTER CORRUPTED?
IS A WIN 98 RELOAD CALLED FOR?

HELP!!!!!!

It rather sounds like it is time for a new copy of Windows to be installed. One last thing before you do, is go into safe mode. Go to the Dev Mgr and remove any USB and HID compliant devices. You may have ghost drivers causing problems. Sorry I dont' have any better advice. hg
