Performance

I have several users that use and share various Access
databases. They range in size from 200 K to 25 mb. The
problem is they open at a snails pace or not at all
(leaving the app. or the whole machine locked up). My
server seems to run fine in that other docs (Word,Excel,
Powerpoint); seem to open fine or at least at an acceptable speed. It's just the Access (97) files that drag. Thanks for your suggestions!!

Have you tried running compact and repair on the databases? Tools>Database>Utilities>Compact and Repair. Linda Adams

It may be a function of the speed of your network. I used to work on a database which would take 3 or 4 hours to run a process on the users' machines but only took 10 to 15 minutes when I ran the process directly on the server.
