Performance with VLAN interfaces on PIX

Hello,

I have a PIX 515E with 3 interfaces and am thinking about using the 3rd to connect to my failover PIX. I have at least 2 zone besides the outside (DMZ and inside) and am thinking about adding a few more DMZ's. So I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the performance of the "virtual DMZ's" using VLAN? Could I perhaps use a VLAN if to act as a failover connection to the secondary PIX?
