My app run much faster on my http localhost than on the Server https. Someone told me that's because the SSL has to scan thru all the images & scripts. Can someone please explain to me in more details about this and what can I do to improve the performance on the server? Thanks.

Thanks again DNG. The second link concludes that "https only slightly slower than http" but in my App, I can tell it's significantly slower. And I don't see any solution for this.

Are you sure its not just the difference between running on localhost vs. a network connection?

Perhaps you could test this by removing everything but the raw text.... images are sometimes big files.

I include the script & image files on both server & local. I time the page when it begin to load & and then when it's done. The length it took to load the pages are vary but I'd say on average, it's about 7-59 thousand ms.

I meant to say 7-59 thousand ms slower.

And I don't see any solution for this.

this depends on many things and depends on the design of your application...

its sure that https requests are slower than http requests..

I guess what I'm looking for is something like "don't scan this" to skip the image files or something. I guess it's impossible. Thanks DNG & Sheco

Thanks Sheco.

When I try place the image file in http, I got warning popup saying "this page contains both secured & non-secured items....blab ..lab" They don't want to see this.

Haven't try to them in iframe yet but seems like lots of work to do. I guess I have to accept the fact.

Thanks for you help!
