I am looking for some performance and monitoring software.
The software should be able create and save graphs (cpu, memory, etc) in gif/jpeg/png format and/or output to a web page.

Due to budget or lack there-of, I am looking for free/shareware. Does anyone know of anything that will do any/all of the above?

Take a look at collect (man collect) if thats no good for you try looking at perfmon it is written for solaris, but I have managed to run it on other *nix versions.

You might use sys_check to generat html report. you may generate configuration or performance or both report. Se manpage of sys_check.

No don't mention it.....

If you know SNMP really well, there's a tonne of Linux apps out there that can query SNMP on your digital boxes and display pretty graphs for you..

Thanks for all of the tips. While some of the things listed will work, they dont quite match my needs.

In re-reading my original question, I see that I failed to mention that this also needs to be automated - from the collection of the data (which the various tools appear to do) right down to the generation of a jpg of cpu/memory/other usage.

er.... let me refine this a bit further

What I utlimately want to do is get the CPU/Memory/whatever charts displayed on a web page.

Ok, perfmon it is. Now to get it to work on Tru64.

thanks.

Another useful tool is Big Brother. I've got it installed on several tru64 boxes. Find it at There are also graphical plugins at

Thanks for tips. Unfortunately, due to budget (lack of), I wont be able to check out the tool from raxco.

I will be looking into perfmon (was out this past week so didnt get to look at anything) and big brother.
