I have successfully used Quest Performance Analysis tool but wanted to hear from other SQL DBA’s and developers this time. I am working as the DBA with a new client that is in need of a Performance monitoring software package. Does anyone have any experience with any 3rd-Party monitoring software packages?

Thank you in advance for your help,
Michael Hessler

I have used SQL Co-efficient, although its not so much a full time monitoring tool, its more for creating Performance analysis reports and identifying bottlenecks.

We found it to be invaluable in our performance analysis workstream.

In reasearching "SQL Coefficient" I found that Quest purchased them.

We have spotlight for our local servers, but are using Idera for a client server. The Idera product is simple to setup and use and while it may not have all the bells and whistles, it is also much cheaper
