Performance Monitor - TCP Segments?

Hi all,

I'm running NT Workstation 4.0 SP6a Performance Monitor. There is an item called "TCP Segments/Sec". It's very interesting and can vary quite a bit. Can anyone give me an idea what that is? I'm a little familiar with TCP/IP, but how about these "segments". Are they a certain size, type?
