performance monitor alert not starting

does anybody knows why i can't start performance monitor alert on my computer that is monitoring a remote server?

Hello,
We were able to get this to work when we changed the Performance Monitor and Alerts "Service" to log on as Domain admin. We still received an error that the log couldn't start, but, the Icon then turned green and data was dumped data to the log. We were monitoring Win2k workstation to Win2k workstation.
