When the user has entered his username and password and clicked on connnect ( OK button on the logon screen ), it can take 4 to 5 minutes (sometime even more) before the computer gets in windows. The user has a Win2000 professional pc and try to connect to a domain on a Win2000 server with Active Directory. In windows evrythings works find with the network, it's just the time that takes to enter in windows that is very long. I checked on the user pc for the profile type and it's the Local Profile Type that is selected. Any ideas on what could affect login time or the time that takes to get windows ?

Are there commands in the logon script that might be timing out before processing? Does it have access to local DNS servers? Is logon faster on any other computers (servers, maybe) in your network?

How big is the user's profile? Could be just copying the data across the network.
