I have setup a counter log using performance monitor in Windows 2000. The log file is stored on the disk of the machine being monitored.
In order to not have the monitor influence the disk counters I want to store the log on a different server on our network. I use the browse button on the properties box to select the file location, but when I start logging I get an error that says to check the event viewer. The event viewr shows the following:
Event Type: Warning
Event Source: SysmonLog
Event Category: None
Event ID: 2036
Date: 7/7/2004
Time: 10:21:52 AM
User: N/A
Computer: SERVER-MCS
Description:
Unable to create the \\SERVER-SPARE\Is\Temp folder for the Test log configuration. This log will not be started. The error returned is: Access is denied.
.
Data:
0000: 05 00 00 00
I have administrator rights on both servers. Why won't it create the log file?
