Hi!

My company is currently planning an upgrade for one of our major customers to take then from Perform R2 SP3 to Perform R3 SP4. This is for a number of reasons, mostly to try and help the one million issues the seen to have with the R2 platform! That and to prove that the fortune they spent on analytics was worth it! Not that I doubt Audio Analytics on R2 ;o)

Our customer is a big one, they have a distributed Multi-site environment with all of the functionality perform offers.

I am familiar with what the process is and have attempted in a lab enviroment with mixed results. The DB replication is what’s causing the most headaches.

We are rigorously planning this exercise in our labs with the customers DB’s, are far as I know we are the first in the UK to try this.

The reason for my post is to ask if there is anyone that has this type of experience. I don’t post a lot on here but do often look so I know some of you have good Perform skills.

Anyway it would be greatly beneficial for me discuss certain aspects of the migration, and also to know of any problems you encountered during the process. It has apparently been done before in Israel and the states, here’s hoping! We have asked for assistance from NICE but as usual are finding it difficult to obtain.

Thanks in advance.

hi,

what issues are u experiencing we have done this for 2 major customers in uk with mixed results.

u are correct with staging in lab as we spent a month before upgrade in lab to iron out any issues and it was worth while

Hi,

Was your upgrade with a Multi site enviroment R2 SP3 to R3 SP4?

The R2 Database replication never worked for us and we ended up slinging it out and getting nice to cough up for R3 multi site environment :)

Our R3 installation is alot easier than the R2 install ever was - lesson learnt.....

We went from a integrations box, screen box, database and web at each of our sites all attempting to replicate to a database down to a integrations, screen at each site with a central database, datamart box and storage centre.

mail me at mike _ bonser at ho t mail . com if you need more info

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.
