hi all

Anyone using this yet? any pitfalls or things to watch out for?

It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

mikeyb123,

i haven't installed any in production environment yet, struggling with it in my lab. it does have its flaws but overall is a great step forward compared to 8.x.

what flaws????

we are about to install it this week.....

mikeyb123,

well, i don't like .net for starters, and perspective of struggling with these "smart clients" on all agents' desktops is not pleasing at all. also it's very heavy on resource requirements part and it's definitely not a plus. cls architecture haven't changed much since 8.9, according to nice r&d guy they only started to redesign it recently. well, this and that. i don't think you'll have any serious problem with it, just nagging. they could make it better. :)

Make sure you install R3 SP3 and not really any point installing it on SQL2000 as NICE are already insisting that all solutions are upgraded to SQL2005. Get the .NET sorted properly, there's a document on working with .net 1.1 and 2.0 on the same workstation.

Make sure you have your DNS right for the apps server otherwise set security will not work. I had an s missing from the entry in host file on my test machine and took me ages to work it out, must be exact.

Don't install it with an Alcatel, friggin nightmare.

Good Luck.
