Perfect PHP chat program...

Hi there,

I was wondering if there was a way to create a chat program that wouldn't need an auto-refresh every three seconds or so. If anyone here knows some answers, or a place on the net where to get them, it would be appreciated.

A lot of the web-based chat clients use Java to display the data. The Java app does the fetches.

There is a very special PHP extension that can do an IRC gateway.

Go on PHP.net and look for IRC, im sure you'll find it.

Be warned, you need linux and a fair amount of knowledge about PHP and IRC to get it to work --BB

Still, that does not solve the refresh problem.
