Percents in reports

i have report that i need to add percents too. i have a sum criteria for 5 fields in the report that tallies my info, but i want to add a percent of 4 of the catagories based on the total number distributed any thoughts?

I don't understand exactly what you want to do. Are you saying you have 5 fields. Each of the fields are summed on your report. You want to get a percent of the total (total of the 5 fields) for 4 of the total fields. Is that what you want to do?

yes they are all the fields are using a sum formula. i need to take that sum and get a percent of the total for each field based on the total # distributed.

Ok - I still am not sure where you are summing the fields and how they appear on your report so I am having a problem visualizing your situation - I will give you some info and let me know if I am off base.

I am going to assume that the query provides the sum of each field and they show in the detail section. so the first thing you want to do is to make sum up all of the fields - Create an unbound field in the detail section to the right of the last field you have to add all of the fields together..... =([field1]+[field2]+[field3]+[field4]+[field5]) Name this field "total" This will total all 5 fields.

Then add a text box below each of your fields and enter the following in the control source =([field1]/[total])

There are other ways to do this (including doing the math in the query instead) I am just not sure how your data is laid out -
