I would like to create a cross-tab and show the column percent. That is, I will have a field for the row entry and for the sumarized value. No field for the column entry. I want to show the percent that each cell has of the grand total. I am using Crystal 8.5. Can this be done?

I don't think you can create a percentage column in a crosstab in 8.5. But on the surface, with no column field, it looks like you don't really need a crosstab for what you are trying to do. You could group on your row field, insert a summary on your detail field and drag it to the group header, suppress the details, and then create a formula for the percentage field:

sum({table.amt},{table.grpfield}) % sum({table.amt})

Yes that would be a good solution. Except I need to show the percent breakdown on two completely different fields. So I would need to do two completly different groups. And I need to pass paramters. I have tried sub-reports that that did not work. Can Crystal 9 or 10 handle percents in a cross tab?

In version 9, when creating a crosstab, In change summary, I have an option for

"Show as a percentage of" and I can choose "Total:Sum of {field}"

So I think the answer is yes, you do have the option in Version 9
