I have two groupings--app period and discipline. I have a field that counts the records for each discipline (in a footer) within an app period. I also have a field that sums the record counts in the app period footer. I need to have a percentage field in the discipline footer showing the percentage of the total in the app period footer. No luck figuring this out so far.....any ideas??

Thanks!

I haven't tried this yet, but I think if you put a textbox in the ReportFooter and set it's Control Source to
=NameofTextboxInAppPeriodFooter
it will add your total count to the Report Footer. Then, I think you can use that Textbox value to do your percentage calculations. I don't have any info I can try this on but will check it out when I get back to my desk.

OK, I just tried this out. The first suggestion won't work because you have multiple AppPeriods. Sorry. But I did try this.
In the Discipline Footer I have
=Count([Discipline])

In the AppPeriod Footer I have
=Count([Discipline])

These return the count within the Discipline and the Count within the AppPeriod

Then I put a textbox in the Discipline Footer that said
=Text24/Text26

Text24 being the one that reads the count within the Discipline and Text26 being the one that reads the count within the AppPeriod.

When I ran the report it gave me the correct percentages. How does that compare to what you are doing.

Thanks very much for your reply.......doing what you said, just takes the last group's total count.....

Below is a visual of what I need if that helps! I need the percentages......

App period 1

A 10 29%
B 5 14%
C 20 57%
Total 35

App period 2
A 30 37.5%
B 10 12.5%
C 40 50%
Total 80

etc.

Thanks!

Hold that thought! We must have been posting at the same time.....I will try your second suggestion now and let you know!

Thanks!
