My report has TOTMALES & TOTFEMALES for a class per each line of detail. I also have TOTSTUDENTS. I want to get a percentage, so I created a new field on my report with the following calculation: TOTMALES/TOTSTUDENTS. When I change the decimal on properties I get the correct answer (in this case .60). My understanding was if I change the FORMAT to PERCENT it should multiply my answer by 100 and add the % sign beside it. If I do this I get 0%. What am I doing wrong? (I've change my decimals back to 0)

You are doing it correctly. The only thing I can think of is that your display field is not wide enough the hold the entire field. Try stretching it and see what you get.
Create another field to the right of the calculation you have with the same control source (eg. the calculation) so you can see if there is anything else you are possible changing and you do not realize it.
Let me know if you are still having problems.

Boy do I feel silly! That was the problem. Thanks so much!

Your welcome. A star would be a nice reward. Don't feel silly. I can tell you 100 things I did that would make you laugh. Sometimes the only way to learn is to make the mistake 1st and then........ hopefully not forget it.

Have a nice day.
