I have a client that has a Netware V5.1 server running Pervasive.SQL 2000i SP4. User workstations are Windows NT4, Novell Netware Client & Pervasive Win32 Client.
As a result of some corporate M&A activity, the client wishes to upgrade all user workstations to their new SOE, this being Windows 2000 Professional.
They do not wish to install the Netware Client on the user workstations, but would rather use Microsoft Gateway Services for Netware on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server to provide access to the Netware server.
My suspicion is that Pervasive will not work under this scenario as the Pervasive Client will resolve the shared resource to the gateway server which is then not able to resolve onto the real target, the Netware Server.
Is this at all possible or am I correct in believing that an alternative strategy will need to be found?
