I am installing an client/server application require Pervasive 2000 for the Backend. As result of it, I installed Pervasive server engine into database server and the application for each client. However the setup of the the application installed the workgroup engine that came with the package automatically. The question is how can I configure the workgroup engine only act as a client (Only use the serven engine that lay with the physcial database and not try to use its own workgroup engine locally if it can't read the actual data through the server engine) I have difficult to installed the client engine in to each client since it's seems not able to wipe out some of the setting that I did to the workgroup.

Please ... Help

Using the Pervasive Control Centre (or Center, for US spelling) for the Workgroup Engine, alter the Target Engine setting (under Client->Access) to be "Server Only".

The default is "Try Server, then Workstation" which means that the client will attempt to use a server-based engine for accessing a server-based file, and if not successful, use the Workgroup Engine. A value of "Server Only" will have the effect of making the Workgroup Engine behave as a Pervasive Client.
